No standing martingales or training aids to be worn. Grackle nosebands are permitted. Inappropriate tack (horse or rider) will result in elimination.
We advise riders to return dismounted if a fall should occur. Riders who remount do so at their own risk.
Horses/ponies may only attempt the course twice. If you enter a novice class you may only also enter the pairs.
Competitors must leave the course at a walk.
Scoring
The winner of the class will have the least penalties. In the event of a tie, the time closest to the optimum in the timed section will be deemed the winner.1st disobedience at a fence (including refusal) - 20 penalties
2nd disobedience at same fence (including refusal) - 20 penalties
3rd disobedience at same fence (including refusal) - elimination
6th cumulative refusal on whole course - elimination
1st fall of horse/rider - 60 penalties
2nd fall of horse/rider - elimination
After 3 refusals at a fence you must either leave the course or move on to the next one. You must move out of the way for oncoming riders or you will be asked to leave the course. Dismounting will be classed as a fall.
Competitors will be eliminated for:
Failure to jump fences with red flag on the right and white flag on the left,
Failure to jump the course in the designated order,
Failure to jump the correct option (open, intermediate or novice)
