Show Jumping Rules

British Show Jumping Association rules will be used as a guideline but the judges decision is final.

Whips must not exceed 30 inches.

Any horse(pony)/rider combination entering the Pre Novice and Novice class may only also enter the Novelty class.

Correct dress must be worn at all times, this includes jacket, shirt and tie or stock.

Penalties are 4 faults for knockdown and first refusal.  Second refusal results in elimination.  A fall of horse and/or rider results in elimination, rider must leave arena dismounted.

Tied classes will be decided by a jump off against the clock, fences may be raised.  Normally only clear first rounds will jump off.  The judge will decide if places are to be shared or jumped off.   In case of elimination in a jump off rider will retain position from first round.  If all riders eliminated in a jump off places will be awarded according to the relative completion of round before elimination.

Distances for doubles will be set at horse stride.  Ponies must adjust.

Please take your litter home with you.
