Club and Event Rules

General Rules
Abiding by the club rules is a condition of competing.

HARD HATS to PAS 015 or ESN 1384 as a minimum must be worn properly secured at all times whilst mounted.  Failure to do so will result in elimination and a fine.

HARD HATS to PAS 015 or ESN 1384 are recommended for the in-hand showing classes.

DECISIONS made by Judges and committee members are final.

STALLIONS AND COLTS may only enter the show ground with prior consent and the class judge must be informed immediately upon entering the ring.

NO HORSE/PONY less than 4 years old on 1st January may compete in any ridden class.

OBJECTIONS must be lodged with a committee member in writing within 48 hours with a deposit of £10.00.  This will be returned if the complaint is upheld. 

CRUELTY will not be tolerated and any abuse of a horse/pony on the show ground will result in elimination.

FOUL LANGUAGE will not be tolerated and will result in elimination.

NO CLAIMS for loss, damage or injury to horse, pony, rider, spectator or their property however caused, will be entertained by the land owners, the Club, its committee members or the event organisers and officials.

A MINIMUM STANDARD may be set by the judge for a large class to reduce the class size.

A RIDER/HORSE(PONY) combination may only compete once in any class, any second entry will be deemed non-competitive.

AN ANIMAL not within its height restriction will be deemed non-competitive.  A Pony is an animal 14.2hh (148cms) and under.

CRADLE CLASS competitors must be 10 years or under on 1st January and be riding a pony 12.2hh (123cms) or under, unless authorised by the committee.

A RIDER not within the age restriction will be deemed non-competitive.

SPURS may only be worn by persons 14 years and over with the exception of the working hunter classes where no spurs may be worn in any pony class irrespective of the age of the rider.

THE COMMITTEE reserve the right to alter or cancel any class/es or events if necessarry, to refuse entry to competitions or membership and to permit special entries without stating a reason. 

REFUNDS.  In the event of competitor withdrawal, missed classes or class cancellation, only postal entries will normally be refunded.
